I watched the Brothers Manning for the first time for last night's MNF game. It was different and I would prefer a traditional telecast but I'm not keen on the MNF announcers... pretty blah.

Eli was obviously rooting for the Giants, but it seemed that Payton was too, just less so.

Well the Bucks looked a lot better last night than they did last week... Maybe that's becasue they were playing such a weak team.... Glad to see Gronk is back too.

They were so well in control, I didn't even watch the 4th quarter.

I think Eli acts like he's had way too many blows to the head but he's still way more interesting than Joe B.

These last three games across the league will be telling. There’s what, 1/2 the league still in possible contention for the playoffs? It was great to see the Chiefs have such a complete game today.

49ers won. I do think they are going all the way. Once they get the guys healthy come playoffs.

The Tampa Bay game yesterday was a real nail biter... They (TB) totally dominated the first half and then tried to give it back to the Bills during the second half... Brady did it again and finally pulled it out with a TD pass in OT...

Similar with the Cowboys... They started out with a bang (looked like a major blow out by the end of the 1st qt) and then they almost lost it by the end of the game.

FIFU - Dak was awful for most of the game. Cowboys will not go very far if he keeps playing like he did yesterday. Thank goodness for outstanding defense.

Difficult to Keep Up

It's getting a bit dizzying trying to keep up with things in the NFL, with hour-by hour changes in the schedule due to Covid.

Quote:
Near the end of a bad week for the NFL, in terms of COVID-19 numbers spiking on multiple teams, the league postponed games for the first time this season.

Saturday's game between the Cleveland Browns and Las Vegas Raiders was moved to Monday. The Seattle Seahawks-Los Angeles Rams and Washington Football Team-Philadelphia Eagles games were also moved due to outbreaks on the Rams and Washington. Both of those games will be Tuesday. The NFL announced the changes on Friday afternoon....

Not to mention Joe Buck putting his foot in his mouth again. I actually didn't hear this one since I had the sound turned down when he was talking.

I'd almost forgotten. It's amazing that Joe still finds new lows.

Glad to see Parham was released from the hospital. Hate to see any player go down like that.

Glad to hear that too... It sure looked on TV like it might have been more serious.

Looks like Jacksonville is picked to lose by a few points tomorrow against the Texans. Both teams are floating along with 2 - 11 records and the game is important from a first round draft pick standpoint. Both quarterbacks stink and that goes for the coaching staffs too.

I'm sure the came will be very exciting to watch and I am not going (I turned down an offer from friend who has season tickets - I guess he is scraping the bottom of the barrel for companionship as his son won't go either)

Who's going to man up here and pick Jacksonville to win tomorrow?

I'm not sure I'd call anyone a "friend" who offered me tickets to a Texan game. And Yes, I'll pick Jacksonville.... However, Houston could get lucky and win by default if Jacksonville doesn't show up.

He has seats midfield about 20 rows up! Easy to get to the concessions and toilets. Plus, he has executive lot parking so it's easy in and out.

The trouble with season tickets here, is that the owner had to buy the seats first, When he bought, they were like $12,000 each and he bought 4. Once you own the seats, you are required to pay for all the home game tickets. In his case, 4 x 8 = 32 tickets at about $120 each. You can sell the tickets to anyone, but for some reason, there are no buyers this season!

He tried to sell the seats back to the Texans this summer but wasn't offered anywhere near what he paid for them, so he kept them. If they ever get "good" again, he will unload them.

Two surprises so far today. Note, I didn't watch either of these games, I just saw the scores.

(1) Houston beat Jacksonville in the battle for last place in the AFC south. Have no fear, there are still three games left in the regular season and I'm sure the Texans will find a way to regain the basement. I think Jacksonville is now in place for the first draft pick in 2022. Maybe they were smart to take this loss.
(2) The Lions beat the Cardinals. Who would have thought that was even remotely possible.... Just goes to show you, "On any given Sunday" is still true.

NFL: 2021 Season

Maybe we should start a whole new area of gambling on sports. There could be an over/under bet on how many players test positive each week or individual wagers on the most and fewest per team, which games get rescheduled, and on and on.
