Norad Santa Tracker

Good News! Despite the government shutdown NORAD's Santa Tracker is up and running this year!
In the event of a government shutdown, NORAD will continue with its 63-year tradition of NORAD Tracks Santa on Dec. 24. Military personnel who conduct NORAD Tracks Santa are supported by approximately 1,500 volunteers who make the program possible each and every year. pic.twitter.com/fY0oyjrdDc

Thanks for posting this! I forwarded the last link to my kids, and my little granddaughters are thrilled that Santa is on his way!

The history is also interesting. The Colonel who answered the first NORAD (then Continental Air Defense Command) Santa Claus phone call has gone down in history not for his military skills, but for being nice to kids and making the best of a real mess he didn't cause. I guess that indicates a good officer.

It's amazing to think that anybody could have dialed his 'Red Phone' number and got through. But, Santa can do some amazing things.

Was happy to hear this on my local AM News Radio station. Some things never get old. Next stop, CBS Radio Mystery Theater.

Looks like he got there after the market closed on Christmas Eve and we got to open our new presents today. Hope my new gifts don't break tomorrow.:)

Yeah. I hope he powered the gifts with Lithium-ion batteries, and not those cheap heavy duty batteries that die 2-3 days after Christmas.:D

It must have been the super cheap batteries since the market is down over 400 points so far this morning...

The big boys must be making tons of money moving the markets like this.

The North American Aerospace Defense Command (aka. NORAD) has activated it's Santa Tracker. It's pretty cool with zooming an directional abilities. He's currently over Thailand as I write.

For those of you who have children or grandchildren running about, or if you just feel like being a kid again, you can track Santa's progress here:
