No, that's OK, we can stay with the very lovely Lena. I have excellent facial recognition. I can see her same look as today in the eyes, and around the mouth.

Stick with Lena. I have a vision of Al in a paisley shirt and bell bottoms with a trombone in his hands. I don't want it spoiled by a white button down shirt.

That's interesting -- did you see the story on face blindness on 60 minutes? They had some people who were super-recognizers, and they could recognize famous people from their childhood photos. On the street they recognize faces of random people (e.g. waitress) that they saw in the past.

So here's a test: can you find Lena in these photos:

I'm very close to "face blind", and this 'assignment' proves it. I've spent a good 5 minutes going back and forth through the photos. I can eliminate a few of the girls, but cannot isolate which ones are Lena.

My ex-SO, on the other hand, was a super-recognizer. He'd recognize people (while shopping at Home Depot, for example) who he hadn't seen since first grade. So he could also 'age' them appropriately which amazed me.

I, on the other hand, can't recognize half of the people I used to work with or took a dance class with if I run into them somewhere. It's embarrassing.

These are wonderful photos, but very hard for me to pick. Here are my picks for Lena, though I am not at all sure. Top photo(youngest): girl 2nd from L, 1st row. Middle photo: Center girl in 2nd row from front, in cardigan over jumper and leggings. Last photo:1st row, 3rd from R, blue v-neck over light blue tunic.

So, wish me luck!

+1. I gave each photo a good once over, and wasn't convinced I could pick her out in any of them. Guess I'm "face blind" too...

Though (my) DW looks like a "mature" woman to others, when I look at her I still see the 23 yo I married. Just something spouses do naturally I guess...

photo 1, second row from the bottom, first child on the left.
photo 2, second row from the bottom, fifth child from the left
photo 3, first row, third child from the right
