Every year at this time we often find out, too late, about an interesting holiday event that would have been fun to attend if we lived in the area and new about it.

This year many events will be online thanks to CV. So here is one in Los Angeles that people all over can enjoy, probably for the first time. It is hosted by Scott Wilkinson the TV/Audio guru many of us have heard on Leo's weekend show.

Please feel free to add other notable holiday events.

As it has for the last 44 years, the 2020 holiday season will be celebrated with the sound of tubas. But for the first time in nearly half a century, there will be no Merry TubaChristmas concert in Los Angeles this year. The coronavirus pandemic makes it unsafe to have over 100 tuba and euphonium players cheek by jowl on the stage and 1000 audience members singing in the beautiful Hall of Liberty at Forest Lawn Hollywood Hills, or anywhere else for that matter.
We will feature footage of The Tubadours, a superb pro quartet, as well as the Hollywood tuba 12, a dodecatet of LA’s finest tuba and euphonium players.

Many years we just drive through our local Christmas celebration. We've been attending since we were (Christmas time) tourists. This year, only drive through will be permitted. I don't know if we will take a couple of the ladies we know (even more elderly than we are) but that is part of our ritual. I hate 2020 but I still love Christmas.

PS: This Christmas, Mr. and Mrs. Clause will have masks! YMMV
