Yep, the bacon grease, smoking cigars, and drinking whiskey led to the demise of my Great-Grandad! Poor guy keeled over at the young age of 97! Granny fixed him bacon & eggs every morning for breakfast....including his last day above ground. (I use all of the above in moderation...so maybe I'll make it past 97! )

My Mom and Granny always had a tin of lard in the cabinet. They both swore that you couldn't make a decent pie crust without it! Having taste tested way more than my fare share of pie in my 50+ years, I tend to agree!!!

My Grandad always used lard to make popcorn.....and then put on waaaay to much salt! I'd try to grab my popcorn while he was reaching for the salt shaker.

wow, bacon grease popcorn...i'm tempted to try it!

i like to pour on the seasonings too...parma, paprika, sea salt, garlic powder...basically throw on whatever i have in my cabinet! cheese, sugar...(ok, not all at the same time)...

i'm moving on to stove top popcorn too...the fake butter fume thing sent me over the edge!

at the cabin on norris lake the other month my little niece served popcorn with a side of jar cheese ya heat up for nachos. predictably annoying but surprisingly tastey.

If we're talking about good-tasting ways to make it unhealthly, don't forget chocolate. Melt a batch (1-2 cups?) of chocolate in the microwave, then mix it into the hot popcorn. Google it for more detailed recipes.

It will look bad, but taste good. If you want something that looks good too, use white chocolate.

Definitely worth trying.
