Question about split pork ribs

I cant seem to find out what the heck i bought. normally, i get babyrack ribs when they are on sale and freeze them...but this time i apparently got 'split spare pork ribs kansas city style.

this is basically a rack of ribs like i'm used to seeing, but with an almost equally large hunk of meat on the back/membranse side...this hunk of meat has little bones in it too...they separated quite easily so now it looks like im cooking 2 slabs of ribs.

Is this what 'split ribs' are? I understand that KC style means they cut off the ends to square it uo (or something like that) but i am finding no pictures or explanations online about this 'extra slab' attached to the membrane side.

Any input?
