Hawaii's business press is all aflutter this morning with the news that the state has vaulted from #47 to #39 in Chief Executive Magazine's
ranking of business-friendly states.
Texas & Nevada retained their #1 & #2 rankings.
Massachusetts & New York retained their #49 & #50 rankings.* But they're partying in NY because they're still better than...
... California, ranked even lower than the District of Columbia for two years running.
Admittedly it's a small sample size of 339 executives and the rankings are more suited to entertainment sound bites than to serious research.* But Hawaii's Republican governor is running for re-election this year, and this is being flogged as the reason to keep her in office!
