I discarded all but one suit. Still have a few pairs of dress shoes gathering dust. They have been moved, stored, etc. Perhaps it is time to cull them again. Daks, K, Alan Edmonds, etc.

Going to donate them most of them this month. Issue is that they are, for today, a relatively small size 9, EEE. Hard to find a candidate. Too bad, these are very good shoes made to last a lifetime.

Retirement Shoes...

Merrill loafers both when working and now is my go to shoe. Lucked out and got a pair of Waterproof loafers at the Merrill outlet store.
Merrill Moabs for hiking.
New Balance sneakers for the gym or anytime.

Bare feet much of the time, but as others have mentioned that's not good for the plantar facia. I find that Teva sandals offer nice cushiony support for the heels.

Just bought a pair of Oboz Sawtooths for my upcoming trip, which includes several national parks and I'll be doing some hiking. These things were nice and comfy right out of the box, and where I usually replace stock insoles with something to cushion my heels (see PF comment, above), none were needed. They barely needed breaking in, either.

Oh, and for daily outings, it a pair of new balance tennis (or whatever they call them now) shoes.

Merrill Moabs or Keen water shoes for hiking, depending on surface, Chaco sandals for boating, casual sandals with no heel for a more dressed up look. Cowboy boots sometimes in the Winter when I feel like "Cowgirling up". OK, that last thing doesn't happen often, but when you need it, you need it :-)

I noticed many people have shoes and sneakers with names. Im sure mine does too. My sneakers which get bought about once a year have some requirements, I want white, they must be comfortable, they must be on sale. I wear them everyday, I dont know the name, I would have to go pick them up to investigate.

This spring I bought some sandals (slides) with Velcro on the strap that goes across the foot on top, providing a size adjustment. Somehow when I hit my foot on something it came undone on the left one - - that sandal rotated longitudinally under my foot, I lost my footing, and fell really hard on my hardwood flooring. It took 2-3 weeks to recover from the bruises and lacerations and soreness.

I was so scared to wear them after that, that I substituted similar sandals with no Velcro. These just slip on and off.

Wow, who knew that Velcro was so dangerous. I get my mom the Velcro sneakers, I think the same brand 8888 posted, in a nice white with pink trim.

After wearing boots daily for 22'ish years, I have sworn them off. Now wear Croc flip flops about 90% of the waking day.

Wear Columbia $20 flips down to 40 degrees if not walking distance. Otherwise wear Skechers relaxed fit for walking. Merrells too expensive & like to never go on sale. Same for Keens. They need to have less pride.

I wear cowboy boots or 10" lace up boots for working at the ranch. I buy cheap box store shoes for other activities. There is actually nice looking shoes at these stores and do me well. Bare foot and flip flops are by the door also.

Ever since viewing this thread I keep seeing shoe ads in the right hand column (web browser). Coincidence? Or paranoia.
