RIP - Hal Holbrook

I enjoyed his work over many decades.

Many, many years ago I saw him perform his one-man Mark Twain play, and it remains one of the most enjoyable and memorable performances I've ever seen.

R.I.P. Mr. Holbrook.

My favourite movie line of all time was spoken to him. 'Man's got to know his limitations'.

RIP Mr. Holbrook.

HH always had a very distinctive voice. He made ALL THE PRESIDENTS MEN the classic movie that it became IMHO. RIP Hal.

Loved him in Wall Street.

I really enjoyed his performances. I lived both Evening Shade and Designing Women on TV. RIP.

My (single) mom went out with him once back in the mid '70s. She was the switchboard operator at the hotel he stayed at while he was performing in DC. She said he was a perfect gentleman. He may have been, but I've always wondered.

Hal Holbrook was married to actress Dixie Carter for 16 years until her death in 2010.

Much of their year was spent at her childhood home in a small West Tennessee town. Dixie had one of those southern accents that was real--and not manufactured in Hollywood. And she was quite a lovely lady.
