Creator of "Word Jazz" - lived to age 98.
I was introduced to his work through KVMR out of Nevada City, CA. back in the late eighties. I somehow missed his segment on NPR (I caught up through cassette tape, sourced from Ken), the NPR archive is linked below along with an article on his passing from the Chicago Tribune.

I'd hear the promos, they always sounded intriguing even though I'm not really into poetry. Maybe listened to one or two shows - kind of compelling, but I couldn't really get into it. Still sort of fascinating though.
I'll check out a few of the archives though, thanks.
