One smart dude, and I loved his little roles on the Big Bang theory.

For a guy given 2 tears to live long ago, he sure proved the doctors wrong. The world will miss his great mind.

Wouldn't he object to the RIP aspect, after all he is dead.
Or maybe he just found out he was wrong

Spotted on social media this morning:
"Stephen Hawking was born January 8, 1942, on the 300th anniversary of Galileo's death. He died today, March 14th, on the anniversary of Einstein's birth. Time is circular - no beginning, no end."

+1. Millions more people know who he is because of him being on that show.

His legacy lives on in the astrophysics field. I wonder who will succeed him as the next great mind.

Dr. Hawking also appeared in at least one episode of The Simpsons. He punched out Principal Skinner and drank beer with Homer. How awesome is that?

A humanizing tidbit about him.
Apparently if he didn't like someone (he is only human after all) he had a habit of running over their toes with his wheelchair...

The irony of him dying on Pi day just seems appropriate for such a great scientist. It is amazing he lived as long as he did, given the medical issues he had. He certainly persevered over the physical limitations.

He demonstrated his sharp wit on the HBO show Last Week Tonight with comedian Jon Oliver.
Professor Stephen Hawking's most cutting insult deserves a Nobel prize | Metro News
Quote:
During an appearance on Last Week Tonight with Jon Oliver, the host asked Hawking: ‘You have stated that you believe that there could be an infinite number of parallel universes. Does that mean there is a universe out there where I am smarter than you?’ To which, Prof Hawking hit back: ‘Yes. And also a universe where you are funny.’

Born on the anniversary of Galileo’s death, and died on Einstein’s birthday.
