RIP "Stompin' Tom Connors"

A Canadian legend and singer of the famous hockey game song...

I can only be nice to one person today! Today is not your day...tomorrow doesn't look good either.

He'll be missed. My dad was a big fan when I was a kid and we didn't use to live very far from his farm in Ballinafad.

I had never heard of "Stompin" Tom Connors. So, I went to youtube and there he was. Reminded me of the folk singers of the '60's. Really a down home guy. For the few of you who are not familiar with "Stompin Tom" he comes out on the stage with this wooden board, puts it down next to him, and while he's singing songs related to Canada he's not really stomping, more like he's tapping his foot on the wood. When he finishes his last song, he picks up the wood and walks off. I am sorry for Canada's loss.

That explains why they played the 'good old hockey game' at the Avalanche game on Thursday!. I missed the announcement at the beginning! Great song!
