All:

I thought I would open up the topic of Travel Lore, from the Burma Shave signs to great stuff we all like during the many and assorted road trips that are a part of ER.

Heres one of my favorite links to introduce the subject.

Living in Hawaii, here's what I miss about traveling the open road:

"Are we there yet?"
"He's looking at me!"
"If you kids don't behave I swear I'll turn this car around!"
"But you just went 20 minutes ago!?!"
"Geez, we shoulda filled the tank 20 miles ago..."
"Quick, hand me that bag! Oh, no!!"
"It's only 3:30, how could all the hotels be full already?"
"Road work for the next HOW many miles?!?"
"Dad, why's that guy on the motorcycle waving at you?"
"Well, gosh, I thought YOU packed that!"
"No, officer, I don't remember seeing a speed-limit sign for 85 MPH..."

The best part is that our 13-year-old has NO idea what we're talking about.

Out west- "1043 miles to Harold's Club Reno". Or in the Smokies, See Rock City, Chattanooga".

Ha

Or the Burma-Shave type signs that my dad told me were along Highway 80, the main east-west Texas highway before the Interstate system came along. Heading westbound way out in the middle of West Texas:

"The sun is riz"
"The sun is set"
"And you're in Texas yet"
