Santa Claus is coming to Town

We live in Grimes County Texas , one of the poorest counties in Texas ( no Business's ) All year long our community has Turkey Shoots , bake sales, different events to raise money for Christmas for 12 families.
Saturday afternoon they had their rally the community , the final beg ,borrow or steal to help out . We raised over 9000.00 . Now at the end of the meeting 2 young couples came in . Everyone knew them , kids who had went to A&M and left our community for financially greener pastures..
One of the couples wrote a check , and then the second did . Both 5000.00 or 10,000 between the two . It must have been planned because these two couples came together . It was quite emotional as the two couples both went to our only HS together really good kids . We have one family that had a house fire in August that have been living in a loaner travel trailer with their two grandchildren. Our firemen and others have restored their home and they will be moving back in next Saturday. Twelve families will receive a Turkey Meal , Toys for the kids and items that people on the group feel they need . Some will be getting cleaning supplies repairs to their home etc. Anyone in Grimes county December 8th cmon out to Yankees and join the parade through the woods . It will be a toy run like no other motorcycles, cars minivans . Starts at 9:00 AM Santa and the community friends.

This could be my town. A neighbor called Ms G to say they had found a dog with some injures. Being the holidays coming up they were short of cash to take the dog to the vet. So Ms G sent out a request for help with the vet bills. The outpouring of financial support from other neighbors and out of town neighbors as far away as California and Belgium was just amazing.

Yes we also support our human family.
