Since this year all my grown children will be visiting and since I am giving them cash because that's what they want, I am thinking about also have some cheapo presents under the tree. I want to make it fun so I'm looking for great Santa games.

Here's one: Draw numbers, #1 gets to choose first gift, opens it. Then #2 gets choice of #1's gift or an unopened gift. If #1 loses gift, then she gets to choose another, and so on until everyone has a gift.

But I need a few more games. Ideas anyone? The sillier the better!:duh:

My gal's company did the gift stealing game you describe for several years at their Christmas get together. Didn't think it was very Christmassy myself. This year they did bingo for prizes, winners chose their wrapped prizes and were out for any further wins. Thought that was better - fun anticipation building.

That's how the local Senior Center does it. My Mom says everyone enjoys doing it that way. Each person attending brings one small wrapped gift....worth about $5. Some people just put a $5 bill in a small box and wrap it....that's what everyone tries to get!

The way you describe it -- "gift stealing game" -- certainly puts a downer on it. Not fun! Guess I'll have to do some more internet research.

We have a party to go to this weekend and they play this game. Here is what I am taking. Gift has to be under $10. There are about 160 golf balls in the container. I gather them on our morning walks.

 Just attended a party with a White Elephant Gift exchange. Had a blast! The cheesier the gifts the better! The alcoholic gifts were stolen the most, closely followed by a coffee gift card. We ended up with a great drinking/trivia game! Someone brought a couple VHS workout videos...that we amusedly referred to as the "porn" videos! (as soon as someone stated that, they were a hotly traded commodity)
