I have this cool vintage Gallet Flight Officer chronograph that needs service. The crown is broken off, so I can't wind it to see if it works. I see this model online for $3,000 to $5,000, with the Gallet World site showing them worth $10,000 and up (which has been called a little optimistic on other sites).
The official service company for Gallet, The MultiChron Service Center, is currently not accepting watches for service because of a shortage of skilled technicians. So I'm thinking of contacting a company called Connoisseur of Time to see if they'd service the watch and possibly sell it on consignment.
Has anyone had experience with Connoisseur of Time or a similar company that services and sells valuable watches?
