Shower remodel - no step up or down

A 400 pound co-worker ripped one off the wall. He was slightly embarrassed.

I think if either DH or I were heavy we would not have opted for the wall mounted. Seeing that we are not "heavy" fortunately that is not a worry. The look of the wall mounted is sleek, cleaning as mentioned above is also easier and it is a space saver, with the toilet not sticking out into the room nearly as far. That is actually the main reason that we switched to a wall hung model. It is the same depth as the cabinet next to it.

This is what we ended up going with.

I would not do a hang on wall toilet unless you're sure whatever it's attached to won't flex.

If the bathroom is being remodeled, then the proper structure can easily be put in place. I'm currently planning a master bedroom/ensuite build and we looked at wall mounted toilets but decided to go with a regular toilet.
