Ahh, the electronic meter - have 'em here in Germany AND have TOD pricing for our electricity. Dishwasher and laundry are run at night....

Was offered the electronic meter while living in CA - would give you $25 or something like that to be one of the first - however, the contention was with the rolling blackouts they had in CA that they would use your real-time consumption number to determine how much electricity they would actually allocate to you based on the supply at the time - oh, and, or I guess if you'd signed a contract that allowed them to charge you much, much more for that peak usage.

Passed on it then.....

I salivate at Nords setup and really want something like that in my final retirement home - don't know that I'd be as anal-retentive as he regarding running up and down checking and re-taping connections due to univited guest, but the idea of 'jamming the electricity company with a bit extra noise' for some reason pleases me :-)
