This Andrews Sisters Version from back in the War years was really popular. It is still a popular Lindy Hop song.

Another great one from those years, with the great actress/ singer and a most beautiful woman, Dorothy Dandridge. Plus the best dancers (IMO) of the past century, the Nicholas Brothers.

73- great clips! Some of those guys doing the stroll look like they are still in 4th grade!

Ha

Love this....explicit lyrics, but they are the whole point of the song

Not the Andrews sisters

and finally some Sabbath by the Dresden Dolls......I was there! virtuoso drumming!

I look like Chief Working Bull twirling around my living room floor when I play this on my stereo. Love to dust to it.

I recall dancing to this one at a party in Riyadh in the late 1980s - the visuals, which I'd never seen before, are a plus:

As I've aged, for the past 10 or so years, I've increasingly enjoyed Lawrence Welk's music. Back in the 60s and 70s, I did not find his orchestrations appealing.

"Tempo Perdido" ("Wasted Time") is a Samba tune first sung by Carmen Miranda in 1934, and recently revived by the Pink Martini band. Its lyric is actually not that happy, a lament about the lost time spent with an undeserving lover.
