sports fans, help!

So i thought this group can help me figure something out. Recently got a sheet of stats from our son's bball team and i don't understand all the stats.

I looked over the #'s and it looked like there was some calculation errors, I thought "total points" meant all points the kid earned - so 2 points per regular shot, 3 for three ptrs and 1 for FT's...add it up and there you go.

Well, apparently that is not the case? can some of you sports folks explain?

here is an example:

Player A 7/17 2 pointers, 3/9 3 pointers, and 11/16 FT's

His total for "Total points" was 27, my way 34

Player B 2/2, 0/0, 2/2
His total 4, my total 4

Player C 7/23, 3/10, 4/6
his total 21 mine 27

Is there some other way or are the calc's off?

Did the stats actually SAY that the first stat was 2 pointers ONLY?

Except for the first one which is close 7 total - 3 threes = 4 twos...

8 + 9 + 11 is 28 only one off

your third guy.. 7 - 3 = 4

8 + 9 + 4 = 21 exact..
