We should afford loved relatives and partners - and ourselves! - the same decency and relief we give the animals whose care we assume.

Hmm... The payout on Washington state Single Payment Immediate Annuities should rise slightly?

I've never figured out how the state would possibly prosecute a case of an illegal suicide.

This is an inconsistency I never understood. If we believe that euthanizing our pets is the humane and "right" thing to do to end their suffering, why don't we feel the same way about people?

I totally see your point. And by the same reasoning, why don't we eat people? We eat cattle, and aren't there more people around than cattle?

I have no problem with someone in Terminal cancer taking their life . That is their decision . I do not agree when they are helped with their decision . Anybody who has terminal Cancer has access to enough drugs to commit suicide having Dr.'s write perscriptions just opens up a flood of law suits and no way do I think any family member should be allowed to make this decision for someone . If you have terminal Cancer bring in hospice . It allows you to die in dignity and comfort .

I am a long time member of the organization "Compassion and Choices" which lobbies for end of life choice laws. If you support these laws, consider joining.

You devil. The story wouldn't load on my 'puter, probably too many people at home overloading the cable, but I did see the title and disagree, "there oughta be a law."

Old grandma cows & bulls aren't the meat of choice and i think harvesting the young & tender for food is probably not a cost effective idea - people have a poor food intake to meat production ratio. Why chicken is cheaper than beef to buy. Using old folks as fertilizer makes sense to me - others as well it looks like: The Green Life: Recycle Yourself: Green Burial and Eco-Coffins

I believe in Euthanasia, however that said I do believe it would need to be closely monitored. I think I should have the right to do what is in my own best interests, however I should have no input on what my husband would want. If there isn't a legal piece of paper signed by him, it's not my right to say what I think he wanted.
