Summertime, and the living is easy
Fish are jumping, and the cotton is high
This is one of my all-time favorites, although the livin' ain't easy in this dry heat of the AZ low desert. Yes, we have cotton fields outside of the metropolitan. But I don't see no fish jumpin'. Don't even have a river, man!

We need to get out of town soon, I hope. Temperature of 112F later this week.

Nothing like Alice Cooper to kick start summertime when school got out in the 70's:

Shall I post a French song?

Nah. I do not feel like spending time to translate the lyrics, particularly in a non-literal way to keep the poetic aspect of it.

So post it anyway, and trust us. I think it is free.

OK. I will not be blamed for this 1971 song from my teenage years.

Summertime, Summertime by the Jamies. 1958? 1959? Too ancient for YouTube?

A time just for planting
A time just for ploughing
A time to be courting
A girl of your own
...
T'was so good to be young then
To be close to the earth
Now the green leaves of summer
Are calling me home
