Superman saves the day -- no, really!

First Superman Comic Saves Family's Home - ABC News

Quote:
A struggling family facing foreclosure has stumbled upon what is considered to be the Holy Grail of comic books in their basement – a fortuitous find that could fetch upwards of a quarter million dollars at auction.

A copy of Action Comics No. 1, the first in which Superman ever appeared, was discovered as they went about the painful task of packing up a home that had been in the family since at least the 1950s. The couple, who live in the South with their children, asked to remain anonymous.
If there's such a thing as having a guardian angel, this family certainly has one.

That is wonderful! In the early 1950's, my brothers had a box of comic books. Too bad they were all "tossed" at some point - - they could be worth a lot by now.

It's ironic to think how hard we worked to get an education and good job skills, when our comic books might have contributed even greater amounts to our net worth. Had we only known.
