Suzie Orman now selling Chevys.............

When this whore first appeared on Public Television, I listened to her spiel. Fairly legitimate. Then you look at her stockbroker backround and self promotion, it makes me a bit ill. :(

Now she's selling Chevys and telling you to borrow money for the trucks! - I hope Public TV never stoops so low again!

She's a female Bob Brinker. But Cut-Throat, you said
it yourself. Most people are stupid. Now there is something you can always rely on.

Comparing Suze Orman to Bob Brinker is like comparing Abe Lincoln or Ted dy Roosevelt to George W. Bush.

John Galt, you still don't get it.

LOL! I can't stand her either; she triggers my gag reflex. They should put her on Fox News where she belongs.

When this whore
Funny, but that word was the exact word I thought of when I saw her in that commercial. I can't listen to her for more than 10 seconds because she talks like everyone is beneath her in that horrible tone and mommy talk.

She is my son's ex-wife's guru. Which fits well with what you have all said about her repulsive condescending nature.

She may be condescending and annoying.

But I've watched her show many times, and don't recall a single time that she gave out bad advice. And the self-promotion on the show is very minimal.

I don't watch ads, so I can't comment on her selling trucks, however.

Hey, I am condescending and annoying and I always give you good advice :) I think Suzie is a putz, but then I think that of a lot of other folks also. I am sure she has many fine qualities, but I have read her stuff and never found a single useful thought.

Though she has an unorthodox style, I always thought her ability to connect people's emotional state affecting their financial decisions spot on. She does have an ego the size of TX (I am from there, I am allowed) which I thought was more cute than annoying. DH hates her arrogance and Oprah/drPhil-ist approach to money talk.

But I was really put off by this too and very disappointed. Its a principle thing, shes now banned from our TV. DH will be pleased.

She is an idiot, although apparently successful
at what she does. However, she is still an idiot.
People making money and a name for themselves
while being utterly clueless are so common in
the USA as to hardly merit comment any more.
I could provide a list of famous/rich people whose
IQ wouldn't crack 50. Not worth my time. Feel free
to make up your own list. It should be easy.

Being warm, 'smarmy ad smoozy(sick)' is a plague on PBS - not just limited to S. and financial advice. I often cuss the guys - when I'm up to my a^# in alligators on some fix it/remodeling project that looked so easy on PBS. Landscaping/plumbing/building - you name it - looks so easy and 'clean' on TV.

I saw the Suze Chevy commercial last night. Ugh. What a sellout. I never sat through more than 15 seconds of her show while flipping through channels because I figured out debt was bad and savings was good 5 or 6 years ago and have learned a lot since then.

To see a personal finance guru smiling and talking about what a great loan GMAC has is disgusting. She even said something along the lines of "and you're guaranteed the same interest rate for your next car loan." Great, not only is she hawking financing a new car but looking ahead to the next new financed purchase, too. Great advice, Suze. :p

ALSO...Suze is the pitchman (pitchwoman?) for GMC and Pontiac also.

The TV ad looks the same as the Chevy ad but she changes the wording  (and the car outside on the street) to GMC or Pontiac.

Why not add Cadilac and Buick while she's at it? Might as well pick up all of the GM lines.

More power to her for picking up some extra cash while she is somewhat popular.  Her star will soon fade so I say get it while you can Suze! :D

I saw the ad. Where's the ethics? I want to help you "buy" this product. The ad companies are smart- people will associate her with good advice and people will BUY!

The irony of Suze branching out into the commercial field is that most folks who opt to purchase a vehicle because of her urging will probably incur an additional $20K+/- of debt that they probably should not be adding to their already-burdonsome debt position! :-X

Many of them will be calling her on the CNBC show in a few months asking her to advise them how to get a higher FICO score and surprised that they are in such poor financial shape.
