The IRS's "Office of Taxpayer Burden Reduction" is asking for recommendations on how to reduce "taxpayer burden," meaning the amount of time and money payers have to spend to comply with federal tax obligations. But that means filling out another form.
(from the WSJ online)

Might we suggest more people use the home de-pot method of earning tax- free income?

If they gave me a complete exemption from taxes, that would save me time and money!

From reading this board, I've learned that apparently some people like paying hefty taxes...

Why is e-file not available to overseas taxpayers? That is one suggestion I would like to make.

After that, elimination of the PFIC rules would sure be nice...
At the very least, they should provide some plain-English instructions and examples -- and mention the existence of these stupid rules in Pub. 54 or somewhere that taxpayers abroad are likely to see them, so that innocents don't get caught unawares.
