Interesting story. When I saw this on TV my first thought was "damn, that must have been hot as hell; no wonder that kid decided to change out of it mid-flight."

I've posted another version of this story on the Wednesday Weirdness thread. The kid gets an A for creativity but it's very worrying that Hong Kong airport officials and Air Canada staff apparently did not verify his photo ID. And how did he persuade a 55 year old US citizen to switch boarding passes with him? It's as if the security staff were doing "reverse profiling"; assuming that an old white geezer must be OK.

Next time I see TSA shaking down an 80 year old grandmother, I'll realize that they are smarter than they look.
