The March of the Penguins

My girlfriend brought this movie home last night. I didn't think I'd like it but it was fantastic -- even on our 19" crt. Morgan Freeman narrates. Nature loving folks with large screen TVs will especially enjoy this film.

I enjoyed it too.* It's incredible how much they've adapted to the harsh conditions and how much work it takes from both male and female to survive and protect the egg.*

I didn't think it was all that good - it seemed to go on forever and ever - but I must qualify my opinion; I saw it on a trans continental flight . . . on a 13 inch tv . . . packed into the center seat.

The idea of monogamy for 12 months, then changing mates is somewhat compelling. But definitely not worth being huddled with a group of guys in the freezing cold for 3 months with no food.
