I was goofing around with the years of returns that Vanguard offers a rate of return percentage on. Then I noticed you could change it to only include whatever holdings through them you have.

This includes money market/settlement funds. I never have anything in the settlement funds. So I kept them out of the tally, and suddenly my overall rate of return jumped up a full percent.

So, if you don't use those accounts and maybe want a nice little ego boost, it may be worth customizing the holdings accounted for.

Something is wrong.... if there is nothing in the account then it should not affect your return...

Are you sure you are not excluding something else?
