When you think about it, we're a pretty homogeneous group...

As individuals, we're different, but don't we share most of the same experiences at least once in our lives?

I mean, like almost all have done things that EVERYONE has done, like:
-been to McDonalds
-gone out on a date
-gone to a doctor or dentist
-had at least a semi serious illness
-dealt with grief or tragedies
-been to movies or watched TV

And most, have:
-flown on a plane,
-been to a foreign country like Canada or Los Angeles.
-had at least one moment of Glory in the public view
-driven an automobile
etc. etc.

Now... is there anything you'd be okay sharing... about what you've never done or what is unusual for most people your age.

Well... I've never...
-been to Starbucks
-been on a cruise
-gambled at a casino
-had any police record ('cept for 3 speeding tickets)
-been to a professional sporting event ('cept Red Sox around 1947 and Rhode Island Reds Hockey in 1948)
-listened to or watched a full Rap "music" piece
-bought a software program

... a start on my oddball list...

How would you finish "Well I've never...."
:)

I think I'm the only person in the world who has never seen the movies "Star Wars", or "ET"

I never have...

1) ...had a credit card just for my own use during almost 25 years of single adult life. I had lots when I was married, and several for work that were for work use only, but never had one for just me.

2) ...had a hangover. Presently I am not a drinker, and when I was young and experimenting with it I would fall asleep before I could drink that much.

Can't think of much else right now...

... had a headache.

Until I was in my 20s, I didn't believe there was such a thing; I just thought it was a commonly accepted euphemism for "I don't want to do [whatever]".

I finally came to realize that it's a real, sometimes debilitating condition, but I have no idea what it must feel like.

...used a parachute.
...subscribed to cable TV(1).
...had a personal cell phone (until I retired 2 months ago)(2).
...been unfaithful(3).
...broken a bone(4).
...been east of Turkey.
...been west of Hawaii.
...been south of Lemaire Strait.
...been north of Fairbanks.

(1) But I always had fun with over the air TV reception, especially when my locale was a test market for digital TV.

(2) Had a megacorp sponsored cell phone since well before they lost their antennas.

(3) No footnote needed, but I thought it would be funny to say that, then have a footnote, hehe.

(4) Had a finger injury that could have been a little break, but just taped it. We'll never know.

Never been to a demolition derby, though I'd love to
Never been to Alaska, but all the rest of the US states.
Never gotten a speeding ticket.....but occasionally do drive real fast when no one's around on the interstate.

Same here, except I get a headache after 1.5 drinks, instead of falling asleep. I can't finish a second drink to save my life. It's a natural limit that keeps me from getting a real "buzz." As a result, I gave up drinking socially, because some people like to keep an eye on how much others are having, and I was getting comments on how I needed to "loosen up" and drink more.

Funny thing is, I have tried every alcoholic beverage there is, because I enjoy variety, so when the topic comes up I sound like a lush! I know the "proof" of various liqueurs and all sorts of trivia about alcohol.

I've never sent a text message. I'm told I should learn how, but nobody gives me a good reason why I need to do this.

Never paid a penny of credit card interest.

I have; jumped (parachuted) out of fixed and rotary wing aircraft to include a C-141 jet,
scuba dove down to 185' off of Andros island in the Bahamas, earned a ranger tab and jump wings as well as a CIB and two Bronze stars with V device, road the dragon and Cherohala Skyway more than a few times, taken extended motorcycle trips to Key West, Outer Banks, Bourbon Trail, and Hot Springs, Ak., completed over 500 tax returns as a VITA volunteer the past two years.

Oh, also have had two hole in ones, both witnessed.

I knew this topic sounded familiar. We had an entertaining thread on this less than a year ago.

+1. That was a fun thread.

Never done pot. Didn't smoke and didn't inhale.

I never smoke pot, and was never around anyone who did, so did not even inhale 2nd hand smoke. To this day, I do not know what pot smoke smells like. My wife is the same.

Caveat: I used to smoke cigarettes.
