Went to see David Byrne's American Utopia

David Byrne was in So Cal this month and I got to see him twice in San Diego. His new show is totally amazing and is his best work in years. It evokes Stop Making Sense, but in a completely new and fresh way.

It was definitely one of the best live performances I've ever seen; and it is completely unique. The music was a perfectly curated mix of new and old, and I could watch the show over and over, it was so interesting. I am a huge Talking Heads fan, so I'm totally biased; but my DW was not at all familiar with their music and she loved it even more than I did.

The world tour is currently underway, and there are a lot of places he'll be visiting in the next few months. Not to be missed. Spoiler alert: here's a link to a recent live performance on Colbert's show. Go see him if you can...enjoy!

Made me curious, so I looked him up, including checking out his website.. Not my cup of tea at all at all. But, to each his own. Glad you and your DW enjoyed it.

I like Byrne. Had a VHS copy of stop making sense I used to watch all the time.
