What will the President say?
Seems like there is something big happening. The President will talk in the next 10 to 15 minutes.
Any ideas what he will say?

No clue, but it must be something big if he's going to make a live statement this late and on this short notice...

If so, it would be a virtually unprecedented display of big-organization secret-keeping. Doubtful.

Osama Bin Laden was killed about a week ago by one of our missiles. They have a DNA match. (my source: Geraldo, on Fox News). The country in which this happened is unknown to Fox so far.

Well, the POTUS hasn't spoken yet, but the talking heads say Bin Ladin is dead. I'm glad to be wrong--about the OPSEC and about the facts
I'm afraid it won't change much about the nature of the bigger fight.

If this is true - and I hope it is - then it is an appropriate time to remember how we all really felt back on that morning in September 2001. And even more appropriate to think of those who lost so much, both that day and in other attacks.

Geraldo now says Osama was taken out where was living, which was not in a cave but in a mansion outside Islamabad.

I don't think so. Bin Laden might be more dangerous dead than he was alive. The tensions between modern, tolerant, secular society and the traditional village life we are leaving behind are still profound.

My first reaction was
But now that it is sinking in, somehow it is hard to feel joyous considering all the horror that occurred on 9/11 and after. Despite the best efforts possible, it took us almost 10 long long years to nail him. And meanwhile he was living in luxury in a mansion, apparently.

Lucky for William and Kate the DNA results didn't come back 2 days ago!
I so wish the troops could all come home now.
And we didn't have to take our shoes off anymore to fly.

Is the feeling up by the agents OK if they stop making you take your shoes off?
