I appreciate our rather dumb state legislature for extremely low retiree taxation--a product of sorts.

There are no state income taxes on defined pensions or social security payments. And since my DW is disabled, property taxes are waived on our 5,200 square foot main residence.

My easy spirit walking shoes . They are so comfortable and look like new after a few years of almost daily wear .

Folex carpet stain remover. Spray on, rub with finger tips (seriously!) and blot with cloth or paper towel. Every stain I've used it on -- gone! And it doesn't leave a residue that within a week has attracted dirt and dust.

A superior product for us is one that delivers top of scale value. The highest quality/most utility for the lowest cost.

There are lots of superior products out there. Price is not always the best indicator.

Lexus automobiles and their dealers.

The cars are made out of high quality components that just work better than other luxury brands. The dealers are also superior to most European luxury brand dealers.

We had a neighbour who always bought Cadillac. He stopped in at a Lexus dealer and took a test drive. That was the end of his Cadillac days. He took a bath on the trade but felt it was worth it to get a quality ride. He is probably still buying Lexus today. Cannot comment on the Cadillac but we had a Lincoln for one year. The Lexus and the Avalon were/are far superior product IMHO.

Bang for the buck list, great products that I would have paid more for:

FELCO #2 pruning shears

Carhart chore coat. They usually last 20 years with hard wear.

Stephen Connelly's "Harry Bosch" detective novels

Weather Tech vehicle floor mats

Diamond Gussett blue jeans, so very comfortable

Apple latest style iPhone's earphones

Klein pliers & screwdrivers

Yeti insulated mug

Timex Indiglo watch

Stihl battery operated chainsaw and hedge trimmer

Cutco scissors, bought a second pair for the shop

DS bought one for the back of DW car (Nissan Pathfinder) as a gift from out of town. 18" by 4+feet, cost $129. I am sure others are better, but this was just a bad deal.

Yeti insulated mug
We bought mugs at Walmart's and Sam's. $8 apiece. I put ice and water into one at 9pm, and there is still ice at 8am. Why spend $20+?

You are talking about whether a product is a good value. I did not understand the initial question to incorporate a price element.
