What's everyone doing on Memorial weekend?

Doesn't always seem like a holiday: here are my plans. Saturday I need to finish erecting a 6 wire hi-tensile fence around another 8 acre pasture for my sheep - that'll kill most of the day plus 1/2 of sunday...if I have any energy left I have about 40 tons of manure that needs to be pitchfork edone wheel-barrow full at a time and move to the compost pile...Monday, if all goes well I administer worm meds to all the sheep (80 of them) and trim the hoofs of about 50 of them.

It's still better than sitting in a cubicle all day! :)
Lord have mercy.......that sounds like work! I'll drink a cold beverage for you.  :D

(I'll be the first to say it :D) Congratulations on your last day REW!!!!

We'll be putzing- weeding, laying down mulch (yeah still), housework, remodeling, chatting with neighbors, eating watermelon and grilled meat stuff. :)

We had a "Talk like a pirate day" I think today should be REW Day.
In fact, let's combine the 2.............

Secure the (ER) hatches, me bucko. Cast off the (job) lines, Matey. Steady as
she goes :)

Good luck man!

Ugh, studying. CFA III is next weekend...

Seven of us are going to the New River in WV. Starting a float trip on Monday, spending the night on the river and finishing the trip on Tuesday. That way we avoid a lot of the Memorial Day rush. This is one of the best whitewater raft trips in the US of A.

Get together with friends, a few beers, food, do some work around the house and other properties. Enjoy the good weather (hopefully!). Stay off the highways.

Me, too--weeding and mulching today, Saturday.

Tomorrow, attending christening for friend's granddaughter.  I was chosen godmother even though I told them I do not go to church anymore.  How can one say no--maybe I should have said that I've actually become a devil worshipper. >:D

Monday, maybe a BBQ at a friend's house, or just more weeding and mulching...

DW is working.  I will sleep in and then I will fish until cocktail hour each day.  Maybe walk
the dog in a nearby park or forest (no leash and no picking up doo-doo).  Might cut the grass, or maybe not.  Avoiding anything which might resemble work is on the to-do list every day.

Hey, I just noticed this post. So far I am 100% right on target.
Today I fished until noon and then doggie and I did about 2 miles in the state forest across the river from our house. Very very beautiful area. Never saw a living soul, just a few wild critters. My kind of day.
Tomorrow, more of the same. ER.......you gotta love it! :)

Friday I drove up from Mesa, AZ to Dolores, CO. Today I spent the morning in some archaeology meetings and talking to locals -- finding out where a number of nearby Anasazi sites are -- and this afternoon I spent hiking to several of them. Tomorrow I'll do more of the same and head back to Mesa on Monday. Also went to a archaeology talk this evening.

No bar-b-que or beer, but we had a nice dinner and some pretty good wine this evening. :D :D :D

Friday:  Moving garage sale stuff out of the basement and into the garage.
   Saturday: garage sale, then collapse
Sunday: either go out for brunch or get DH to grill something before he goes to work
Monday: probably go to a baseball game.

We are planning on our first garage sale in years (in 2 weeks).
Long overdue! I was all enthused until I began to consider all of the
work involved. Sure I want to clean out the house and the extra cash is nice, but still...............It's tempting to just haul it to the
local consignment auction, but they take a cut and I know we
can get more by selling on our own. Anyway, after that's done I can rest up for about 2 days and then will be on the road for most of what's left of June. Looking forward. DW will house and dog sit
while I am away.

Starting to get jittery. As father of the bride I'm feeling that this is my proudest moment since my daughter's birth. I've got my tux, the ring, and butterflies.

Maybe, I'll calm down when all the bridesmaids arrive here to get dressed. :D

Nothing in particular - yesterday b.s.'d with a couple neighbors coming in 'to start the season' - moving to da camp for the summer, baked beans, BBQ'd ribs, watched the waverider's/teenagers inaugurate the lake, got some special built screens from the hardware store/almost started work, the SO wants satelite tv this year on the back deck over the lake - so installed a splitter/need one more short cable from Radio Shack.

Today - nothing in particular again.

Just try not to lose it when you give her away and it hits you that your little girl is gone...

REW, been there & done that - twice

Bum,

Congratulations on your daughter's wedding. Definitely a moment to cherish. It was one of the most treasured moments with my dad. I am sure everything will go just fine. Relax and enjoy this day.

Sunday - Wedding Day My daughter is already on cloud nine. The Emerald Society will be piping! I'll post some pics.

Monday - BBQ for the masses - you're all envited.
I am honored and grateful that you have invited me to your daughter's wedding...on the day of your daughter's wedding.

I'm gonna leave you now, because I know you are busy.

Man, I had the worst Memorial Weekend yet! I had the NY steaks ready to grill on the new BBQ, the jacuzzi fired up, friends coming over all weekend, the works! Saturday I come down with the worst case of stomach flu, can't eat a thing yet. Watched my dinner guests tonight eat perfectly cooked NY steaks with a fantastic Cabernet and a wonderful strawberry salad. Life is cruel sometimes. :-[

WHOA...its over. What a wedding! Thanks REW and LovesLife! Say , Retire@40. What an affair, even the weather cooperated! Party started on Friday rolled out the last contingent about 10pm Tuesday night. Slept real well last night.... 1 down, 1 to go.

I tried to post some pics of the Emerald Society and Retire@40 pinching the bridemaids but they all too large. :-\

With the number of nouns in that sentence, could you be a little more specific as to the object(s) of the pinching?

Post the photos to www.photobucket.com for free, link them here with
. Photobucket will even give you the string to cut/paste.

I wanna see them bridesmaids that are too large, being pinched by a large retire@40 at the large emerald society...

Edit: dang it nords!!!

Who says you can't teach an old dog new tricks! Thanks th!

Now on to the large bridesmaids pics!

BUM :D

My first thought when looking at the enlarged picture was "Dang, she's cute, looks really happy, too!"

Second thought, "Wow, what a rock on her hand! My DW isn't seeing this pic!"

Third thought, "Hey, how come those guys in the back are wearing dresses?" ;)

Congrats! You must be very happy! :)

Ah thems not large bridesmaids...heck, they aint large unless you have to shave the horns off 'n em every now and then.

Why is the picture on my monitor so small? It looks like its only 1.5x2. I want to see bigger pictures :) please.
