2017 S&P 500 sets a record
OK, not really meaningful/actionable, but sort of interesting:

The S&P 500 posted positive total returns in every month of the calendar year in 2017.
In a data set stretching back 90 years, this is the first calendar year without a monthly loss.
Despite this impressive string of gains, the returns for 2017 have not been extraordinary on a historic basis. ... but given this record consistency of gains, this year still only produced the 8th largest annual gains of the past quarter century trailing returns in 1995-1998, 2003, 2009, and 2013.

If you look closely at the chart in the referenced article, you will see that there have been several instances of the market being up for 12 consecutive months. This is only the first time that 12 months fall inside a calendar year.
There were also a few runner-ups of 11 consecutive months.
But look even closer, and one sees that this is actually 14 consecutive up months!
What is the chance of getting one more month to make it 15?
