2023 Investment Performance Thread

Jan '23: +9.5% lol. I'll take it. Don't expect it to stick around though.
Feb '23: +7%.

Forgot to do January.
Jan +2.4%
Feb +0.2%
YTD +2.6%
From Peak (12/31/21) -10.2%
Asset Mix: TBD, as of 12/31/22 was 39% equities, 56% fixed, 6% PM's/commodities.

YTD return is +4% on a nominal 75%/25% asset allocation. I'm happy with that.

S&P 500 = 3.69%

Schwab's 60/40 passive portfolio = 3.14%

Gave back a lot of what showed in January. Still ahead for the year at +2.6% on a 2/3 equities allocation.

As of 1-Feb-23 we were up 3.98% from 1-Jan-23.

As of 1-Mar-23, we are up 1.13% from 1-Jan-23.

Current Asset Allocation is 50.4% Equities, 33.3% Bonds, 16.3% Cash.

Gave back about a point in Feb, 4.8% overall at end of the month.

1/31: 5.6%, stock AA of 58%.

2/28: 4.4%, stock AA of 62%.

I added it up yesterday, but forgot to post. Anyway, here's the latest:

1/31/2023: +7.08% YTD.
2/28/2023: +4.22% YTD.

It was a bit of a letdown, giving back almost 1/3 of the gain I saw in January. Even more annoying, I was up to around 9.55% on 2/2, so initially February had been off to a great start. And even as recently as 2/15, I was still up a bit over 9%. Still, I was down by 7.26% as of February 28, 2022, so this year is definitely an improvement, so far.

I’m still gauging against January 2020 (BC). Equity funds are up 30+% and bond funds are at best flat.

This year to date my total is up 4%

My asset allocation was about 70% equity funds and 30% bond funds and similar. I’m gradually dumping the bond funds in favor of CD’s because if I can’t trust bond funds in a down market what’s the point?

Today, I'm back at 0% for the year. Exactly where I was January1, almost to the dollar. Bummer. At least I'm not negative but it's only 7am.

Just four weeks ago, I was up 5+%. On the plus side, my dividends keep coming in regardless which pays the bills, but a little upside would be nice.

+3.9% YTD thanks to shift to Fed MM Fund and short term CDs. Still have equity and retirement date funds but the returns are still not there at this time.

Less than 10% of the time they failed is hardly the reason for a lack of trust.

Does anyone know if Fidelity's "YTD Performance" number (which shows on their website and their mobile app) include or exclude withdrawals taken (e.g. when I pull dividends/money out of our taxable brokerage account)?

On our Schwab portfolio with an AA of 65/35 equity/fixed income we are..

YTD +4.89% ending January
YTD +3.34% ending February
YTD +5.50% ending March
