A dead horse I know but some very good points to consider by some heavy hitters at Bogleheads.

My favourite so far:

No one knows a darn thing about the future. If you save 25x your needs and take out 4% annually, you have a good chance - that's ALL!
- Save more than 25x... better chance.
- Take less than 4%... better chance.
- Both... much better chance.
