Anyone familiar w Acorns?

I've been discussing investing with my 15 year old daughter, she showed me this. It's basically a Vanguard lifestyle portfolio with a greater of $1/month or 0.25% fee, which is waived for students, that allow you to invest your "spare change".

I'm not clear how you get them your "spare change", but if it gets a kid to make regular investments, it could be worth the fee.

I read about it a few months ago, but haven't looked into it in detail. Sounds like an interesting concept to get young people started with investing.

I'm not clear how you get them your "spare change", but if it gets a kid to make regular investments, it could be worth the fee.

I thought the spare change came from the app investing your change from any transactions i.e. rounding up.
