AGI verification issue

Posting in hopes this will help someone else, although it sounds like many of you have filed 2020 taxes already. Last year we could not e-file because of a form that was not eligible (shared ACA allocation). We owed, and our check was cashed right away, but our return is most likely stuck in the paper backlog at the IRS.

When I tried to e-file our 2020 return today, it was rejected for an incorrect AGI verification. I thought this might happen, and after some searching found a similar situation referenced in a Michelle Singletary article in the Washington Post. The article suggested using $0 for our AGI, and linked to this page on the IRS website: "Special Instructions to Validate Your 2020 Electronic Tax Return
If your 2019 tax return has not yet been processed, enter $0 (zero dollars) for your prior year adjusted gross income (AGI)." https://www.irs.gov/individuals/elec...ng-pin-request

I did this and e-filed successfully just now.
