Best Economy in 50 Years

I saw it less of a hijack and more of an endorsement of products that will improve hiring in the medical field.

I mean...donuts and bacon? Hospitals and doctors offices should hand them out for free in the streets!
I do a low carb diet. My cholesterol has dropped considerably and I credit the weight loss. I eat bacon about 4 to 6 times per week. Now if DW wore a bacon bra I might go for 7. :D

And its economical too. Here's an example of how to wear a bacon top and cook the bacon at the same time you're sunning...

This would only work in Arizona, New Mexico, Texas or Florida. The "cooker" would have to be really pain tolerant.

This will probably end the thread, but I was watching TV and some kid had a PBJ&T sandwich:confused:

Other kid asked what that was and the kid opened it up to reveal, peanut butter, jelly & tuna (from a can).

Guess his Mom didn't like him much...yuck.

Back in 2002, both my BIL (medical IT) and I (engineering) were out of w*rk and it took each of us over a year to find a new position. Two weeks ago my BIL was again out of a j*b and he started a new one today for more money close to their home in California. I get calls from recruiters several times a month with promises of more money.

There's sure a lot of turmoil going on right now. CNBC hasn't run an upbeat story in what seems like years. Stocks are churning and interest rates are low. Owning a house in the wrong area can really hurt. However, it appears that a person with reasonable professional credentials can find w*rk if they are so inclined. There are help wanted signs all over Houston for anyone that can breathe.

I can't help but think we are in better shape than we were back at the turn of the century.

I think that the demand for ChEs is a reflection of the price of oil.

Remember 1982/3?

I used to make pb&j + mayo and ham (+lettuce+mustard) sandwiches. Two great things that taste great together!

So we started surfing the web on our respective computers and just after I click and start scrolling down the thread, I reach the bacon bra just as DW looks over:

"So I'm thinking for Tori's birthday we co-WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU LOOKING AT??!!!" :p

"It's the ER board, really!"

Great, now she thinks I have a bacon fetish.

Did you gents notice that the bacon bra lady is reading "No Limit hold-Em"

No limit indeed.

ha

Been there, done that and they weren't givin' out no stinkin' T-shirts. My first lay-off was February 1982. I and 1,100 of my closest friends led the oil company lay-offs.

I'm enjoying it while it lasts. There was a bumper sticker around in the mid-80's that said "Please God. Give us one more oil boom and we won't screw it up again."

Well this is it. I'm filling my sack a little fuller. The pay is great. Everyone loves me; and when it's over, I'm done. :D

Same kind of booms in aerospace back in the 80's, companies would win a $2bil contract, hire 20,000 and 1 year later at end of final design review, they would hand out 19,000 pink slips.

Co-worker told me he used to drive from LA to Seattle in his Corvette, with his clothes, job shop at Boeing for $45/hr, live in a rooming house for 8-10 months, save most of it and that he knew almost the exact day he was gonna get axed. Pink slip and final check, in the Corvette back to LA.

I've recently visited about 1/2 the major cities in the US, and I did not sense a boom time. I'm in Vegas right now, and most casinos have much smaller crowds than I remember from the 80's and English is not the first language of most.
