Best Short Term CD Rates (6mo - 1 year)...

I went to the Emmigrant Direct Site and it appeared to me that all of their CD rates were currently at 5%. There are some Banks in town here that are offering 5.6% CDs for 1 year.

I was a bit surprised that Emmigrant was not as good as this since their Savings Account is 4.65%.

Anybody know any better on-line Banks with great CD rates?

You might also keep t bills in mind. 6 month t bills are a tad over 5% and are free of state income tax. Might be a consideration depending on your state tax status.

Re: Best Short Term CD Rates (6mo - 1 year)...

I had a meeting with Fidelity 2 weeks ago. *The representative told me that their short-term rates were around 5.5-5.6% at that time.

I was looking for an alternative to bonds for my "cash" bucket (of course, since I'm not going to retire till next year, we were just setting up the plan).
