Consumer Price Index info

The Bureau of Labor Statistics compiles and distributes the CPI. Their website, bls.gov has a lot of information.

Here is a link to recent data on the CPI- U (Urban):

http://www.bls.gov/news.release/cpi.t02.htm

It shows the inflation for the last two six-month periods as being 2.1 %, annualized.

Just picking some of the biggest delta's from the last 6 mos. annual rate info:

Fuels (for buildings, not vehicle related) up 18.9%
Apparel down 5.1%
Gasoline up 5.6%
Education up 6%
Personal Computers and Peripheral Equipment down 19%
Medical Care was up only 2.8%, but Hospital and Related Services was up 4.2%

A special note , Tobacco and Smoking Products were down 2% in the last 6 mos. period. Using these products may allow you to boost your SWR, no matter whose SWR method you use! :P
