How did you go about being picked by Money Mag and Fidelity? Just curious. Not sure I would want everyone knowing what I have or don't have but congrats if its something you enjoy.*

Re: Fidelity magazine to profile us

We were a little uncomfortable at first about them plastering our financial stuff in the articles but when we really thought about we realized what the heck,we should be proud of our accomplishments.I think it was in our minds at first that crazies would come out of the wood work and try to kidnap us or something or we would be hounded by sales pitches.Truth is not one call or crazy and its 7 months later.
As far as how we got in money magazine,a friend told us to contact them as he thought it would be interesting to read about a pre-retiring couple who basically does all their own investing and planning as opposed to the usual articles of couples with enourmous debt and no money or plan and to see what their professionals thought they could improve on.
Once your in one the others want you too,its like dating.

I'm not familiar with Fidelity magazine, is it related to Fidelity MF?

Anyway, congrats to you and DW. Can I have your autograph?

If it's for Fidelity's 401K plan, it's "Stages". Also, there are two versions - one for "youngsters" and one for "mature" (over 50 - that's me ).

The under 50 magazine is posted on NetBenefits (the "elder" version is not - I already complained about that since I can enlarge the print, on-line. Something I can't do with the print version).

Re: Fidelity magazine to profile us

I think the part we like best is the attention you get at the photoshoots. For money magazine they sent the cnn photo team,a make up person,a clothes person,it was pretty wild.Fidelity shot it at a local park by the water. It looked like a movie set with all the lighting and umbrellas. The best part was people walking by trying to figure out who we were.

Hello Mathjak:

How cool! Looking forward to the article featuring you and your wife. I have an IRA with Fidelity and get their magazine, too.
