Does anybody know if you take a reduction if you retire before normal retirement age as stated on your SS statement from the gov. Ie can I use their estimates if I retire at 52.
 
It does reduce your SS benefit, but not by much unless you would have made gobs more money between ages 52 and 66 and chose not to.

You can use the estimator on the SS site and get estimates for multiple ages, just fill in "zero" for income after age 52.
 
Thanks. It looks like it changed less than $100 a month. Not worth delaying another day.
 
That's pretty typical for those coming out of a high-earning career. Even for me, after 15 years with a relative modicum of pay as a SAHD/teacher, the other years of topping the earnings limit has made additional years of work inconsequential for SSec.
 
Yeah. I just want to make sure I'm using correct numbers using fire cal and fidelity calc.
