How long would you wait to close an account?

I have an account at Schwab. I've moved everything out of it and downloaded the 1099 and filed my taxes. Now I want to close the account but I remember one year that they submitted a revised 1099. Does anyone know if they do that often or, if they have to be done by a certain date?

I'm assuming if I close the account and they revise the 1099, they'll send me a physical copy? Should I shift over to paper statements before I close the account? Or, should I just wait until say April 15th?

I'd be inclined to let them close out a dormant account whenever. I closed a bank account during the year, and got no tax forms mailed to me. I did get an email that my tax forms were ready, but could no longer login to the account. I had to call to get the forms mailed to me. Kind of a pain.
