You don't drive? Can't rent a car? I get the fact that you must have another party transport you after a procedure involving anesthesia but if you have your own transportation to and from a nearby motel you can hire a taxi to take you back to your motel.

If you are a Veteran there is transportation to/from medical appointments in many communities. Contract your local Veteran's club.
