Yes I knew about him and it is an incredible story and life of giving. There are very few cut from this same cloth.
Kudos to him and his wife.
"Only" saved a few millon for their late years!

The data are a few years old, but the article recounts that he and his wife had squirreled away $2M for their personal retirement. Given the passage of time, that amount could very well now be $4M. Still, given what many folks are chasing, even that higher number seems modest.

Beyond the sheer generosity exhibited here, it also casts a spotlight on issues such as "how much is enough?" and "what is one's purpose in life?"
