Muni Funds- Some help are needed

I have some experience investing in mutual funds, individual stocks, options and futures. However, I have limited knowledge about Muni Funds.

I’d like to start buying some muni’s for safety and income and would appreciate your input. For example, I was looking into Nuveen muni bond (NUVBX) which yields 3.7% and Nuveen closed-end fund (NPT) with 5.5% yield but kind of clueless. I use Nuveen as an example but could be Troweprice, vanguard, etc.

Any comments would be appreciated,
