Nervous, want to keep 2020 retirement plan. I am not objective, please comment?

You appear, even in the midst of this correction, to be fine. The key is the cash reserves you’ve set aside. We’re in the same boat , having spent the last 10+ years building cash so that we wouldn’t need to sell equities to fund the first 5 or so years ER. As long as we’re coming back out of this haze in the next 5 or 6 years, your numbers are ok per Firecalc. Good luck and congrats. Hope the worries around health become a distant memory

I input your numbers into Firecalc assuming a 20 or 25% decline in starting value, say 1.6 million. After SS and pensions your expenses are more like 50k per year, assuming a 35 year retirement you have a 100% success rate.

Your estimate turns out to be correct.....I have a nagging thought about whether this time IS different and whether I should unload a bit more....I am serious about never wanting to work again, lol.

The only change I've made in recent weeks was to move some of my bond fund allotment to specifically bond funds comprised of treasuries.
