Interesting. I've been curious/suspicious as to why the Fed stopped reporting M3 a couple of years back. They said it was too expensive, which makes me curious about the accuracy of the research that the article was based on. If the Fed said it was very expensive to do accurately, one might wonder about the scope and methods used by the private researchers. Not that I have reason to doubt, just wondering.
