Pen Fed not offering CD's ???

I had a Pen Fed CD that matured recently so I tried to re-invest it this morning. Pen Fed shows "Unavailable%" dividend rate for all certificates, 6 month thru 7-Year. Does that mean they no longer are offering CD's or is this just some sort of temporary situation?

Must have been a temporary website outage. The rates are there now.

Those 5% CD are looking better and better. If I hadn't found this forum I wouldn't have not have joined Pen Fed and wouldn't have got in on those.

+1

My last 5% Penfed CD matures today. It won't be re-invested but will provide 70% of 2012's planned withdrawal.

I wouldn't have a Penfed CC or CD's if it wasn't for this site.

Yeah, I heard about PenFed's CD's on this site as well and have yet to purchase one. From the table displayed it will still be a while.

Glad I got my last purchase in about a year ago at 5%, 10 year term. Sure hate to see my 6% one's mature next month.

Later in the day I checked and the rates are displayed. They aren't great but the best I can find. It would definitely be nice to see a special rate for a 10 yr. CD but I doubt that will happen.

CDs are a bank's way of saying: "We want your money. so we'll pay as little as we can while we loan your money out to others at a 500bp spread........
